| Writer hunts for muse -- finds heart, head at odds
For many people, one of the most difficult aspects of turning 40 is the realization that some aspects of their lives -- matrimony, career, family -- are no longer waiting to be discovered or realized. It's not a dissatisfaction with their present state that makes them unhappy: It's the knowledge that certain possibilities are now forever closed off. Fiction, director Cesc (Krampack, In the City) Gay's gentle, understated drama, centers on such a man -- the filmmaker Alex (Eduard Fernández), a married father of two hurtling toward the big birthday. In hopes of combating a crippling case of writer's block with a change of scenery, Alex leaves Barcelona and heads for the Pyrenees to visit with an old friend (Almodóvar regular Javier Cámara). There, Alex meets a woman, Monica (Montse German), who is in a happy relationship of her own.

Exercise Helps Slow Smokers' Lung Function Decline
THURSDAY, March 1 (HealthDay News) -- Moderate to high levels of regular exercise may help slow lung function decline in smokers and lower their risk of developing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a Spanish study suggests. Researchers publishing in the March issue of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine examined the physical activity, smoking history and lung function of nearly 6,800 people over 11 years. None of them had COPD at the start of the trial, but 928 of the participants developed the lung disease during the study. .
