Barcelona keep tabs on Depor defender Andrade

Barca want to sign a new centre-half during the summer market and have Real Zaragoza's Gaby Milito and Andrade top of their shortlist.

Argentine Milito is a priority, but negotiations are proving difficult. In the meantime, Barca are maintaining contact with Jorge Mendes, Andrade's agent, and Deportivo about a possible deal.

Barca know Depor president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro wants to cash in on Andrade, but will not consider meeting his £8 million asking price. The defending champs hope to drop the cash component by offering midfielder Thiago Motta as a makeweight.

Spain is a visit past due

We haven't visited Spain in a while, a visit past due, since a Spanish wine has recently made a name for itself among a group of my friends. Borsao's Tres Picos Garnacha has become quite a hit and everyone wants in on it.

Best known historically for Rioja, Spanish wine has been on the move for some time. Rioja, Riserva and Gran Riserva are great bargains. The Cabernet Sauvignons can be top notch and, because of the origin, are typically a bargain.

Barcelona: Trident GP2 Test Recap - Bad Luck

The second day of testing in Barcelona was not really lucky for Trident Racing. Pastor Maldonado, who had his 22nd birthday today, went off track in the opening stages of the PM session, and was forced to call it quits due to the heavy damage suffered by his Dallara. Kohei was not able to express the full potential of his car due to the several red flags and a physical fitness problem occurred at the end of the day.

More than 318000 foreigners can vote in the Spanish local Town ...

Over 708,000 people will be able to vote for the very first time in the Municipal Elections to be held in Spain on May 27, and the number of foreign electors is double that last time round. A total of 35 million 244,000 are called to vote, and of these the number of EU or Norwegian voters has increased to 318,571. Foreigners are not however allowed to vote in the regional polls which will be taking place across the country with the exception of Cataluña, Andalucia, Basque Country and Galicia. Most of the foreign voters are concentrated along the coast, with the province of Alicante leading the list with 62,264. Madrid comes second with 38,022 and Málaga third with 31,519. The list continues with Barcelona with 28,356, Balearics 18,208, Valencia 14,822 and Santa Cruz de Tenerife with 12,924.
